AMD, Intel, Coherent Fall 8–10% Overnight; Datacenter Stocks Plunge Without Clear Catalyst

Datacenter-focused technology stocks declined sharply overnight (June 8), led by significant losses across semiconductors, optical networking, and server manufacturers, despite the absence of an obvious market trigger. Chip giants AMD and Intel fell more than 8%, while optical networking firms Coherent and Lumentum shed over 10%. Server makers Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Super Micro Computer declined more than 7%, alongside memory product manufacturers Micron, Seagate Technology, and Western Digital, which each fell over 8%.
