Objective
This guide will show you how to configure the GateClaw(Blue Lobster) Discord connector on Gate Web.
Steps
Step 1: Check Connector Status
On the [GateClaw] page, click [Connections]. The interface displays currently configured connectors and their status.
Step 2: Configure Discord
On the [GateClaw] - [Connections] page, select [Discord]. The Discord configuration page will appear, requiring you to enter Bot Token (you can proceed to the next step).
Step 3: Get Bot Token and Authorization Configuration
Perform operations in your [Discord] to get your Discord Bot Token and authorization configuration.

Log in to your Discord on the web and enter the Developer Community: https://mcdiscord.com/developers/applications

Click [New Application], enter a custom name and confirm creation.

On your application page, click [Bot], then click [Reset Token] on the Bot page to reset the token. After resetting, a new token will be displayed. Copy and save this token.

Continue on the Bot page, you need to set the Bot's Privileged Gateway Intents:
- Presence Intent (optional, only for status updates)
- Server Members Intent (recommended, required when role lists and names match IDs)
- Message Content Intent (required, for reading message content)

On your application page, click [OAuth2] to configure Bot permissions:

Continue at the bottom of the [OAuth2] page, copy the generated URL and open it, then invite the Bot to join your Discord server and authorize (requires server administrator authorization). Your Bot will then automatically join the Discord server.
Step 4: Complete Discord Configuration
Return to the [GateClaw] - [Connections] - [Discord] configuration page. Enter the Bot Token you copied, save it, and wait for configuration to complete.
Step 5: Discord Conversation
In your [Discord] conversation window, use @Bot name to start a conversation.

Q1: Do I need server administrator permissions to configure Discord connection?
A: Yes, inviting a Bot to join a Discord server requires server administrator permissions.
Q2: What should I do if the Bot Token is leaked?
A: If the Bot Token is leaked, immediately reset the token on the Discord Developer page and update the configuration in GateClaw.
Q3: Why can't the Bot read message content?
A: Please ensure that "Message Content Intent" permission is enabled in Discord Bot settings.
Q4: Can I add multiple GateClaw Bots to one Discord server?
A: Yes, one server can add multiple Bots, but using one Bot is recommended to avoid management confusion.
Q5: What should I do if the Bot doesn't respond after configuration?
A: Please check if the Bot Token is entered correctly, and if the Bot has successfully joined the server with appropriate permissions. If the problem persists, please contact Gate customer support.
