According to BlockBeats, 12 Malaysian police officers were arrested after allegedly robbing Chinese citizens of approximately $50,000 USDT during a raid on a rented villa in Kajang, Selangor in February 2026. The officers have been suspended pending investigation, which is awaiting cryptographic forensics and technical reports.
Charles, lawyer representing eight Chinese victims, stated on May 10 that the investigation is progressing too slowly with no updates since the officers’ arrest, suggesting possible internal interference to suppress the case. He warned of filing a complaint with Malaysia’s Anti-Corruption Commission if evidence of internal protection emerges. The police chief confirmed the suspended officers remain under investigation for armed robbery.
