GateNews
According to The Block, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Project Agorá prototype has verified the feasibility of atomic settlement for cross-border wholesale transactions across multiple currencies and jurisdictions. Seven central banks participated in the proof-of-concept, including the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Bank of England, Banque de France, Bank of Japan, Bank of Korea, Banco de México, and Swiss National Bank, along with over 40 private financial institutions. Settlement finality and privacy protections have been confirmed across all participating jurisdictions. Canada's central bank will join as the eighth member in the next phase, with the project advancing to live value testing and expanded private sector participation.
