BTC Short Whale Liquidated for $3.11M as Bitcoin Breaks $78K, Reopens Position with 40x Leverage

Gate News message, April 22 — According to Hyperinsight monitoring, a BTC short whale at address 0x2fca7140502e6e78bb0ef747354fb19774351cc4 was liquidated twice earlier today as Bitcoin surged past $78,000. The whale lost 40 BTC, equivalent to approximately $3.11 million, marking its eighth liquidation in the past week.

Following the liquidation, the address deployed its remaining $30,000 in capital to re-enter a short position with 40x leverage, currently holding $310,000 in notional value. The new position carries a liquidation price of $79,085.
