ChatGPT Market Share Drops to 60% as Gemini Surges to 50% Over Past Six Months

According to SimilarWeb traffic data monitored by Beating, the consumer-level AI market has entered a three-way competition led by OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic over the past six months. ChatGPT's global user traffic share fell significantly from 80% to 60%, while Gemini's independent visitor traffic roughly doubled, rising from 20% to 50%. Claude surged from 3% to 20%.

In terms of absolute user numbers, ChatGPT maintains approximately 900M weekly active users (WAU) and 1.5B monthly active users (MAU), Gemini holds around 500M WAU and 900M MAU, while Claude ranges between 150M-200M WAU and 250M-300M MAU. Claude ranked as the fastest-growing website globally with a 255% sequential growth rate in the past quarter.
