China Calls for Dialogue to Resolve Ukraine Crisis, Says Ceasefire is Urgent

GateNews
During an emergency UN Security Council meeting on May 28, China's deputy UN envoy Sun Lei urged all parties to pursue dialogue and negotiation to resolve the Ukraine crisis. Sun called for ceasefire and de-escalation, emphasizing respect for international humanitarian law and cessation of attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure. He stated that while the path to peace is difficult, dialogue is better than confrontation and negotiation is better than war. China supports all efforts aimed at achieving peace and called for parties to resume contact, demonstrate political will, address mutual security concerns, and work toward a comprehensive, lasting, and binding peace agreement in accordance with UN Charter principles.
