According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, on May 19, China expressed deep concern over a drone strike that damaged a generator at the Barakah nuclear power station in the UAE. China opposes armed attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities. The Foreign Ministry reiterated that all countries in the Middle East Gulf region deserve protection of their sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, with civilian and non-military targets requiring safeguarding. China called for an immediate comprehensive ceasefire to prevent further escalation of conflict.
