According to China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun on May 15, China responded to a question about future purchases of U.S. oil by stating its willingness to work with all parties to maintain global energy security and supply chain stability. Guo emphasized that the immediate priority is to promote peace and stability in the Persian Gulf and Middle East regions.
