European Stocks Open Higher on May 19, DAX 30 Rises 116.84 Points

On May 19 (Tuesday), Europe’s major stock indices opened in positive territory. Germany’s DAX 30 led gains, rising 116.84 points, or 0.48%, to 24,364.42; the UK FTSE 100 climbed 30.80 points, or 0.30%, to 10,354.55; Italy’s FTSE MIB gained 22.45 points, or 0.05%, to 48,691.50; and Stoxx Europe 50 rose 8.55 points, or 0.15%, to 5,857.55. France’s CAC 40 added 9.46 points, or 0.12%, to 7,996.95. Spain’s IBEX 35 was the lone decliners, slipping 1.13 points, or 0.01%, to 17,753.97.
