Fed Likely to Hold Rates in April at 99.5% Probability, CME Data Shows

Gate News message, April 17 — According to CME FedWatch data, the Federal Reserve has a 99.5% probability of holding interest rates steady in April, with only a 0.5% chance of a 25 basis point rate hike.

Looking further ahead, the probability of the Fed maintaining rates through June stands at 94.1%, while a cumulative 25 basis point increase carries a 0.5% probability and a 25 basis point rate cut has a 5.4% probability.
