According to Front Office Sports, on May 30, former NBA player Tristan Thompson sued UK-based crypto company World Mobile Group, claiming it fabricated reasons to terminate a $2 million endorsement agreement and used his name, image, and likeness without authorization.
Thompson signed the deal in May 2025 to receive up to $2 million in WMTX tokens. In December 2025, World Mobile Group informed him it had mistakenly issued more tokens than agreed. Thompson proposed offsetting the excess against an upcoming quarterly payment due 60 days later. Three months after his proposal, the company sent him a breach and termination notice. The case is currently pending court review.
