Bitcoin (BTC) has pulled back from this week’s high, and as of June 16 it is temporarily around $66,280. The U.S. Congress plans to rebuild the Department of Justice’s Crypto Crime Working Group to coordinate efforts to combat related theft and fraud. Nasdaq has confirmed that Bitwise Bitcoin premium yield ETF BITA will be listed on June 16.

Macro Events & Crypto Market Hotspots

1、According to a report by CryptoSlate, the U.S. Congress is pushing to rebuild the Department of Justice’s Crypto Crime Working Group. Previously, in April 2025, the Department of Justice disbanded the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team and stopped the “enforcement instead of regulation” strategy toward the crypto industry. The new bill is proposed by Rep. Lance Gooden and Rep. Josh Gottheimer. It would set up a federal crypto currency theft working group within the Department of Justice, responsible for coordinating investigations and prosecutions of cases involving crypto asset theft, hacker attacks, fraud, and more.

The working group’s duties include establishing best practices for evidence collection, digital evidence analysis, asset tracing, and victim coordination; providing technical assistance and training to state and local law enforcement agencies; and coordinating international cross-border case cooperation. The bill clearly excludes the crypto currency market, financial institutions, and financial products from the working group’s regulatory scope, without changing the existing regulatory framework and criminal law. An FBI report shows that in 2025, there were 181,565 crypto-related complaints, with reported losses of over $11 billion. The bill has not yet clarified details such as funding, staffing, and victim response mechanisms.

2、Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas posted on X, saying that Nasdaq has confirmed that Bitwise’s iShares Bitcoin premium yield ETF (ticker: BITA) will be listed on June 16 local time. The ETF targets an annualized yield of 15-25% and also gives investors at least 70% of Bitcoin’s upside gains.

The liquidation amount for shorts is lower than for longs, so it’s recommended to manage leverage levels reasonably to avoid triggering large-scale liquidations amid market moves.

Phyrex Ni (@Phyrex_Ni): “At this time yesterday, I was still marveling at how Israel was stirring things up, still marveling that Trump said the Sunday contract signing couldn’t happen, and I really believed what Iran said—that it wouldn’t sign a contract on Sunday. As it turns out this time, Trump was right. Although judging from the list of points Iran released, the U.S. was actually quite passive and it was also tied to war reparations, but judging from Trump’s attitude, it seems he didn’t acknowledge that Iran’s published agreement is the final one.”

“However, the problem isn’t big. Trump’s point is that after the contract is signed on Friday, all terms will be released—so we’ll see then. In fact, for most investors, the details of the agreement aren’t that important; as long as this agreement can fully open the Strait of Hormuz, that’s all that matters. I think Trump understands this as well: only with the Strait of Hormuz opened can the U.S. exit high inflation as quickly as possible.”

“After all, there are less than five months until the midterm elections. At present, it still seems very difficult for Republicans to control both chambers, and Trump’s approval rating is also continuously declining. So for Trump, ending the war between the U.S. and Iran as soon as possible frees up time to think about ways to stimulate the market. Therefore, in any case, unless on Friday the peace treaty cannot be signed normally, this U.S.-Iran matter is basically over.”

“For risk markets, this is good news. By today, both the S&P and Nasdaq futures have already returned to new highs, and I guess during the week the two indexes can also break above new highs again. The probability of Bitcoin returning to $70,000 is still quite high. Of course, the key thing is also to watch the Fed’s policy meeting early Thursday morning. This meeting has too many focal points: on one hand, you have to see Waller’s attitude; on the other hand, you have to see the dot plot.”

“For now, I’m not worried about $BTC ’s price. Unfortunately, this time there’s also trading oil around $60,000. Bitcoin is only doing a dual-currency play. Now it looks like the probability of getting in is quite low. It’s also pretty annoying.”
