According to the Guizhou Province Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, the province launched its Level 4 flood emergency response on May 26 at 2 p.m. The decision follows meteorological forecasts indicating continuous heavy rainfall and convective weather from May 26 to 28, with rainfall shifting from northeastern regions on May 26 night to central and western areas on May 27, then to eastern and southern regions on May 28. High risks of flooding, geological disasters, and urban waterlogging are expected in affected areas.
The headquarters has dispatched two work teams to Tongren, Qiannan, and Qiandongnan to guide disaster prevention and response efforts.
