Hong Kong Interbank Rates Rise Across All Tenors; One-Month HIBOR Climbs to 2.55%

Gate News message, April 17 — Hong Kong interbank offered rates (HIBOR) rose across all tenors on April 17. The one-month HIBOR, which affects mortgage rates, climbed 20.572 basis points to 2.55143%. The three-month HIBOR, reflecting banks' funding costs, gained 12.828 basis points to 2.60411%.

Overnight rates surged 74.048 basis points to 3.36536%, marking the highest level since January 8. One-week HIBOR rose 27.768 basis points to 2.67036%, while two-week HIBOR increased 27.768 basis points to 2.67036%. Longer-dated rates also climbed: six-month HIBOR gained 8.989 basis points to 2.78435%, and one-year HIBOR rose 6.679 basis points to 3.07298%.
