Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index Falls 1.28% on April 30, Chip Stocks Rise

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 1.28% on April 30, while the Hang Seng Tech Index declined 0.79% at market close.

Chip stocks bucked the broader decline, with Birentech rising over 8%, SMIC up over 7%, and Huahong Semiconductor gaining over 5%. Tech stocks weakened, including Alibaba down over 3%, Tencent and Bilibili down over 2%, and Baidu down 1%.
