According to Yonhap, Hyundai Motor announced this week it will establish production capacity to manufacture 30,000 Atlas humanoid robots annually by 2028, with over 25,000 units slated for deployment across Hyundai and Kia plants in the US. The Atlas robots, developed by Hyundai's subsidiary Boston Dynamics, will be deployed first at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Georgia in 2028, followed by Kia's nearby facility in 2029. The robots will initially be assigned to physically demanding factory tasks.
