Iran's Revolutionary Guard Claims Full Control of Strait of Hormuz; Intercepts Two Vessels Overnight on May 28

GateNews
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Navy announced on May 28 that it maintains full control of the Strait of Hormuz, with 26 commercial vessels and tankers transiting in the past 24 hours after obtaining authorization. The statement indicated that passage requires prior permission and coordination; alternative routes are considered disruption and will be handled accordingly. According to the statement, overnight two vessels attempted unauthorized entry to the Persian Gulf by disabling navigation systems. After multiple radio warnings, Revolutionary Guard naval forces intercepted the two vessels; the remaining ships were forced to return. The statement also noted that U.S. military forces in the region fired missiles at an empty area near Bandar Abbas airport, violating ceasefire agreements without causing damage. In response, Iran struck back at the U.S. military base; further such actions will face severe retaliation, the statement warned.
