Paradigm researcher Dan Robinson introduced a new model this week designed to protect dormant bitcoins, including those belonging to network creator Satoshi Nakamoto, from potential quantum computing threats. The proposal introduces “Provable Address-Control Timestamps” (PACTs), which would allow bitcoin holders to prove they controlled a wallet before quantum advances could derive private keys. Holders would generate a proof of control and timestamp it on the blockchain, creating an ownership record that could be unlocked later to reclaim funds on a quantum-resistant Bitcoin version.
