Trump Administration Considers Directing $5B in Palestinian Tax Revenue to Gaza Reconstruction

According to Reuters, the Trump administration is considering requesting Israel to transfer part of the withheld Palestinian tax revenue to fund a U.S.-backed transitional government for Gaza reconstruction, five sources revealed on May 16. Under the proposal, some of the funds would support the transitional government, while the remainder would be allocated to the Palestinian Authority after reforms. The Palestinian Authority said the total withheld tax revenue amounts to $5 billion.
