According to CNN, on May 15, U.S. President Trump reiterated his insistence on obtaining Iran’s enriched uranium, emphasizing this is a priority matter. Trump acknowledged that from a practical standpoint, the nuclear material is not necessary and could be “deeply buried and sealed,” but stated he would prefer to “get it into our hands.” He explained: “From a public relations perspective, I don’t think it’s necessary. For the fake news, it matters that we get those materials. We said we would get it, and we will. We’re watching closely.” Trump also warned that the U.S. is closely monitoring Iran’s nuclear facilities and any attempts to extract nuclear materials.
