U.S. Energy Secretary Says America Can Double Natural Gas Exports Without Raising Domestic Prices

GateNews

According to Jin10 on May 15, U.S. Energy Secretary Wright said at an event in Sabine Pass, Texas, that the Trump administration is committed to lowering gas prices. "We understand that Americans are paying more for gasoline than expected, and higher than we would like," he said. "However, containing Iran's ability to obtain nuclear weapons is critical, and while this has caused some near-term disruptions, gas prices will fall quickly."

Wright stated the U.S. can "easily" double its natural gas exports without pushing up domestic prices. He noted the country's abundant natural gas resources and pointed out that current exports represent about 20% of U.S. natural gas production.
