According to the Wall Street Journal, on May 26, the media corrected its earlier reporting on U.S. naval operations in the Strait of Hormuz. A spokesman for U.S. Central Command stated that the United States has not resumed the "Freedom of Navigation" plan, contrary to the outlet's previous version. The Journal acknowledged that its initial report incorrectly characterized a coordination between U.S. forces and a commercial tanker carrying 2 million barrels of crude oil as a new operation under the "Freedom of Navigation" initiative.
