My uncle's first airdrop in Web3 at the beginning of 2024 was from an activity organized by $TNSR . I still remember spending a lot of time back then looking for automated trading scripts, and it was quite a hassle. In the end, the airdrop was around 100U, which didn't cover the costs anyway. This experience left a deep impression on me.
So for subsequent Season 1 points and various activities, I didn't participate at all. It wasn't until I encountered withdrawal limits using Backpack that I started trading sporadically and maintaining activity.
Overall, Backpack's airdrop move was really a terrible chess move...
Sacrificing some profits in exchange for reputation might have unexpected benefits.
But it's tough on retail users and Backpack's grassroots employees—one group loses money hard, and the other takes the heat for management's decisions.
