About 2,500 Seafarers Evacuated from Strait of Hormuz Since June 23

According to Jin10 Data and the International Maritime Organization, about 2,500 seafarers from 115 vessels have been evacuated from the Strait of Hormuz since June 23, when the evacuation plan was launched, said IMO Secretary-General Domingues on June 26. The IMO announced two recommended transit corridors: the northern route on the Iranian side and the southern route on the Omani side. Evacuation efforts were suspended on June 25 after a vessel was attacked in the Gulf of Oman, though shipping data shows vessels continue to transit the strait.
