Amazon Withdraws Sam Altman Biopic 'Artificial' on June 19, Seeks New Distributor

According to Decrypt, on June 19, Amazon temporarily withdrew the nearly completed biopic 'Artificial', which chronicles OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's brief removal from power in 2023, and is now seeking alternative distributors. The film, directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Simon Rich, stars Andrew Garfield as Altman and Yura Borisov as OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever. Sources indicated the final version is notably darker and portrays Altman more negatively than the original proposal. Amazon is currently shopping the project to potential new distributors via CAA, following the company's recent $50 billion investment in OpenAI.
