Base Experiences Two Block Production Outages on June 25-26, Lasting 116 and 20 Minutes

According to Base's official incident report, the blockchain experienced two block production outages on June 25-26, lasting 116 and 20 minutes respectively. User funds remained safe throughout the disruptions. The outages stemmed from a sequencer bug: when transaction execution failed, old journal state was not properly cleared, causing subsequent valid transactions to encounter gas calculation errors and generate invalid state transitions that halted block production.

Base has deployed a fix and plans to enhance protocol fuzzing and stress testing to identify malicious transaction paths, while improving monitoring and operations workflows.
