Bithumb Receives Commendation from South Korean Police for Preventing Phishing Fraud

According to Bithumb's official statement, the South Korean cryptocurrency exchange received a commendation from the National Police Agency on June 4 for its efforts in preventing phishing fraud. Since March 2026, Bithumb has operated a real-time coordination system with police, flagging suspicious users and detecting anomalous transactions. The exchange identified 66 suspicious accounts and prevented approximately 800 million won in fraud losses, including blocking one case where a customer nearly transferred 150 million won in digital assets to scammers.
