According to a statement from São Paulo State Health Department, Brazil is currently investigating a suspected Ebola infection in a 37-year-old male national of the Democratic Republic of the Congo who recently traveled to Africa. The patient has presented with fever and other symptoms consistent with suspected Ebola case definitions. If confirmed, he would be Brazil's first documented case of the virus.
