China Activates Level-4 Geohazard Emergency Response for Chongqing and Guangxi on June 6

The Ministry of Emergency Management activated a level-4 geohazard emergency response for Chongqing and Guangxi on June 6, according to joint research by the Ministry of Emergency Management and the Ministry of Natural Resources. The response was triggered by forecasts of heavy rainfall across southern China from June 6-9 and elevated geohazard risks in central Chongqing, northern and southeastern Guangxi, and parts of western Guizhou. The ministry also maintained an existing level-4 response for Guizhou.
