China Reports May Precipitation at 10-Year High, Average 70.9mm Released on May 29

According to Jin10, the China Meteorological Administration released its May weather and climate report on May 29. Average national precipitation in May reached 70.9mm, the highest for the same period in a decade, up 16.3% from the seasonal average. The Haihe River basin recorded 110.6mm, marking the highest level since 1961, nearly double the normal level. The Yellow River basin saw 86.5mm, the third-highest on record for the period, with a 1.2-fold increase from the seasonal average. Extreme precipitation events persisted across southern regions with notable intensity and broad impact.
