According to China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on June 4, Beijing urged the EU to take an objective and rational approach to China-EU economic and trade relations. Mao stated that trade protectionism violates economic laws and is counterproductive, calling on Europe to narrow the list of disputes with China, expand cooperation, and achieve mutual benefit. Mao emphasized that China-EU trade cooperation stems from shared interests and is rooted in comparative advantages and market competition, noting that an increasing number of European enterprises are deepening operations in China, which itself refutes claims of "de-risking" concerns.
