Citi Predicts South Korea's Central Bank to Raise 2026 GDP Growth Forecast to 2.5%-2.7% on May 28

According to Citi analyst Jin-Wook Kim on May 19, South Korea’s central bank is expected to upgrade its 2026 GDP growth forecast from 2.0% to 2.5%-2.7% at its May 28 policy meeting, driven by strong Q1 GDP data and sustained fiscal stimulus. The bank is also projected to raise its 2026 consumer inflation forecast from 2.2% to 2.6%-2.8%, citing rising oil prices.
