According to Mysteel, on June 24, thermal coal (wet-quenched coke) prices and hard coal (dry-quenched coke) prices in major Chinese regions including Weifang, Binzhou, Dezhou, Jining, Zaozhuang, Heze, Rizhao, Tai'an, Linyi, and Xingtai are planned to rise by 50 yuan/ton and 55 yuan/ton respectively, effective from June 26 at 0:00.
Meanwhile, as of June 24, China's steel market continued to show inventory pressure, with total stockpiles reaching 11.5066 million tons, up 4.796 million tons from the previous week, according to Mysteel and Steel Index data. Coal mine recovery progress in Shanxi has stalled, with only 93 operational mines as of June 24.
