Dutch Regulator Fines Polymarket $487,000 for Ceasing Service One Day Late

According to the Dutch gambling regulator (KSA), on June 16, Polymarket's operator received a €420,000 (approximately $487,000) penalty for halting service to Dutch users one day after the February 17 compliance deadline. The platform was ordered to stop offering services within four weeks or face €420,000 per week, capped at €840,000. Since Polymarket complied only on February 18, just one weekly increment was forfeited automatically. The operator is contesting the decision, arguing the regulator's compliance check was conducted while blocking measures were still being deployed.
