EU's MiCA Deadline on July 1 Could Force Out ~75% of Crypto Firms; Only 194 Licensed

According to CryptoSlate, the European Union's MiCA transition period ends on July 1, 2026, requiring all crypto exchanges, brokers, and wallet providers to hold valid licenses or cease serving EU customers. As of May 2026, only 194 firms had secured MiCA licenses across the bloc, while roughly 75% of the estimated 3,000+ crypto companies operating in Europe may lose their ability to do business in the region following the deadline.
