According to Hunan's Emergency Command Center, since May 17, heavy rainfall has affected 754 townships across 14 cities in the province, prompting the emergency evacuation and relocation of 58,000 residents. As of May 22 at 4:30 p.m., all stranded residents in the hardest-hit areas of Shimen County have been successfully transferred, with 9,769 residents housed in 376 centralized shelters and over 47,000 people accommodated in dispersed arrangements across the region.
