Hezbollah Opposes Lebanon Government's Direct Talks with U.S. on June 22

According to Al Jazeera, Hezbollah opposed direct negotiations between Lebanon's government and the United States on June 22, stating such talks would weaken Lebanese sovereignty and serve Israeli interests. The organization said the Lebanese delegation in Washington was pressured to sign U.S.-proposed terms that would compromise sovereignty and align Lebanon with states that have reconciled with Israel. Hezbollah claimed the talks are based on a "flawed premise" and will lead to "surrender" rather than serve Lebanon's interests.
