According to IAEA, on June 5, a local ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant came into effect following the organization's mediation. The temporary ceasefire aims to repair critical power transmission lines at the facility and prevent nuclear incidents. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has now brokered six separate temporary ceasefires in the area following weeks of constructive negotiations with both parties, who agreed to halt hostilities for nuclear safety purposes.
