According to sources, on May 14, India is considering significantly reducing taxes on foreign investor purchases of the country’s bonds, according to Reuters. The move aims to align policies with international standards and attract capital inflows. India’s central bank has recommended the measure, while the Finance Ministry is currently deliberating on it. Officials noted that efforts to reduce tax burdens have accelerated as authorities seek to stem rupee depreciation.
