Iran Discloses Negotiation Terms with U.S., Demands Military Withdrawal from Region on May 19

According to Reuters, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Garibaadi disclosed on May 19 that Tehran has proposed several key terms in ongoing negotiations with the United States. The proposal emphasizes Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy, an end to all regional conflicts including in Lebanon, lifting of U.S. maritime sanctions, unfreezing of Iranian assets, war reparations and reconstruction aid, termination of all unilateral sanctions, and withdrawal of U.S. military forces from surrounding regions.
