According to CNN on June 5, Israel established secret military posts in Azerbaijan weeks before launching a joint military strike with the United States against Iran on February 28, according to unnamed sources. The nearest post is approximately 90 kilometers from Tabriz in northern Iran. Dozens of Israeli personnel, including special forces, helicopter units, and intelligence officers, were deployed to gather military intelligence on Iran, conduct search-and-rescue operations for downed pilots, and provide early warning for missile launches.
