Israeli Military Continues Southern Lebanon Operations Despite Ceasefire Order on June 20

According to BlockBeats, on June 20, the Israeli military said it has received a ceasefire directive from political leadership but will continue military operations in southern Lebanon's designated "security zone," focusing on eliminating a large Hezbollah tunnel system where dozens of armed members are reportedly hiding. The military has stopped firing in other Lebanese areas.

The IDF emphasized that forces will continue destroying Hezbollah infrastructure within the security zone and will strike "urgent threats" outside it. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Katz have issued orders for the ceasefire, with no immediate troop withdrawal planned from southern Lebanon.
