Israel's Crypto Disclosure Program Garners Only 58 Requests, Exposes $50.7M Since August 2025

According to Globes, Israel's Tax Authority's voluntary disclosure initiative has attracted only 58 crypto-related filings since launching in August 2025, exposing approximately $50.7 million in hidden digital-asset capital. The program is significantly underperforming its $700 million collection target, with total tax revenue to date estimated at just $14 million across all asset types from 289 disclosure requests. Tax advisers attribute the sharp decline to the removal of anonymous filing options, which previously allowed taxpayers to assess tax exposure without immediate identification. "The cancellation of the anonymous track fundamentally altered incentives," said Iftach Simhony, head of tax at Prof. Bein Law Office. "Taxpayers must enter the process before knowing their actual exposure." The voluntary disclosure window remains open until August 31, 2026.
