Lebanon President Aoun Discusses Ceasefire Monitoring Mechanism with U.S. Officials on June 23

According to Lebanese Presidential Statement reported by Jin10, on June 23, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun spoke with U.S. Vice President Vance and Secretary of State Rubio to discuss a new ceasefire monitoring mechanism. The officials reiterated U.S. support for Lebanon's government and sovereignty. The U.S. emphasized it is implementing memoranda of understanding reached during U.S.-Iran-Switzerland talks, including establishing a mechanism comprising the U.S., Lebanon, and Iran to consolidate the ceasefire and monitor implementation. The structure and operational arrangements of the mechanism are currently under review.
