Meta, Reliance to Build 168-MW AI Data Center in Gujarat With Renewable Energy

According to Meta, the company and Reliance Industries agreed to develop an AI-enabled data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Reliance will construct the facility's first 168-megawatt phase for Meta to lease, with options for future expansion. The site will operate entirely on renewable energy, with Meta covering energy and desalinated seawater cooling costs.

Meta has also contracted approximately 1 gigawatt of new clean energy capacity in India, including 837 MW with CleanMax and 88 MW with Fourth Partner Energy, extending a partnership that began with Meta's $5.7 billion investment in Jio Platforms in 2020.
