NASA Kennedy Space Center Infrastructure Strained by SpaceX, Blue Origin Demand: Report

According to a new report from the NASA Office of Inspector General, Kennedy Space Center's aging launch infrastructure is approaching capacity limits amid growing demand from private companies including SpaceX and Blue Origin. The report states that NASA's launch facilities, which house SpaceX's Falcon 9 and Starship operations, as well as designated sites for Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket, are dated and often cannot meet current and projected mission demands. The space agency operates only a handful of dedicated launch pads at the Florida spaceport, constraining its ability to support both government and commercial missions.
