OpenAI Launches 'Record and Replay' Feature for Codex to Automate Workflows

According to technology monitor Beating, OpenAI has introduced a 'Record and Replay' feature for its Codex coding agent. The feature allows users to demonstrate a repetitive workflow—such as filling an expense report or submitting a leave request—and Codex converts the demonstration into a structured, editable skill for future automation.

The feature is currently available only on macOS clients and requires the 'Computer Use' permission to be enabled. Its rollout excludes the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
