Renesas Completes Pictorus Acquisition on June 18, Adding Cloud-Based Software Platform

According to Renesas Electronics on June 18, a subsidiary completed the acquisition of Oakland-based Pictorus, adding cloud-based behavioral modeling technology to its Renesas 365 electronics development platform. Pictorus enables engineers to design system behavior in a web browser and generate embedded software from block diagrams in Rust, with C/C++ and Python interoperability. The technology targets automotive, robotics, and industrial equipment applications. Acquisition terms were not disclosed.
