Robinhood Experiences Platform Outages During SpaceX IPO Debut, 4,000 Downdetector Reports on Friday

On Friday, Robinhood's platform experienced significant strain as retail traders flooded the app during SpaceX's record-breaking initial public offering. Downdetector recorded approximately 4,000 outage reports around midday Eastern Time, with users reporting stuck stop-loss orders, delayed executions, and difficulty exiting positions during volatile opening trading.

SpaceX (SPCX) priced 555.6 million shares at $135 each, raising around $75 billion and valuing the company at approximately $1.77 trillion. The stock opened at $150, representing an 11% premium to the IPO price, and climbed as much as 30% in early trading. Robinhood's official account acknowledged "record-breaking traffic" and "latency and intermittent issues," stating essential systems later recovered.
